Students can foster the interest and desire of learning English,and be fond of taking part in class activities.

四、Teaching procedures

Step 1 Pre-reading (3minutes)

1.Show some pictures of ......on the PPT and teach the new words and phrases by setting a relevant scene.

2.Ask students to predict what the article will talk about according to its title.

(Justification:This step can help students to raise interest of the article and master the new words and phrases,as well as prepare for the following reading.)

Step 2 While-reading (12 minutes)

1.Fast reading

Ask the students to skimthe text to check if they have made a right prediction previously and get the main idea of the text. Then invite some students to answer the following questions.

(Justification:Students will have a general idea of this passage, and their reading ability of skimming can be practiced.)

2.Careful reading

Ask the students to read thepassage carefully and fulfill the following paragraph:

Step 3 Post-reading (5 minutes)

Ask the students to discuss one question in group of four, and then share their opinions.

(Justification:Help students have more confidence in speakingEnglish and they will get the consciousness of cooperation.)

五、Summary and Homework

1.Summary

Invite one student to summarize what we have learned today, then the teacher makes a conclusion.

2.Homework

Write a short passage......

(Justification:It can help students consolidate what they have learned in this class and their writing ability can also be trained.)

《听力试讲》

1. 题目:听力教学试讲

2.内容:

Thank you for joining CCTV’s Around The World show. Today, we’re in Australia. It’s a beautiful, sunny day! There are many people here on vacation. Some are taking photos. Others are lying on the beach. Look at this group of people, they are playing beach volleyball. They look cool! I am surprised they can play in this heat. This is a very interesting place. The people are really very relaxed!

4. Teaching procedure:

Step1: Greeting & Lead in

After greeting with students, teacher will ask students it they like Australia and how much do you know about Australia, then do a quiz.

Step 2: Pre-listening

1) Show a video clip, and let students guess the main idea of our passage.

2) Show some listening skills.

Step 3: While-listening

1) Teacher will guide the student to listen the passage for the first time and get the main idea of it.

2) Teacher will guide the student to listen to the passage for the second time, and finish two tasks: a. Questions: What are people doing? (tense)

b. T&F

Step 4: Post-listening

Teacher will guide students to imagine if they are a reporter of CCTV, and make a report for us. They can choose their favourite countries or places.

Step 5: Summary & Homework

Summary: Teacher will guide students to make a summary.

Homework: Students surf the Internet to find more information of Australia.
