On The English Translation Of Government Work Reportss At The Eighteenth Party Congress

Abstract

Government Work Reports is a relatively special type of political text with both oral and written language characteristics。 With the advance of Reform and Opening-up Policy and more foreign exchanges, people pay more and more attention to the English translation of Government Work Reports。 Based on functionalism, Functional Translation Theory in Germany emphasizes the intended purpose of the translation and text function, and provides a theoretical basis for the translation of political texts。congress at work翻译 From the perspective of Functional Translation Theory, based on the Chinese version of Government Work Reports at the Eighteenth Party Congress, this paper will study the characteristics of the phrases, sentences and rhetoric of its English version and its translation strategies。

With methodologies of contrastive analysis, induction and exemplification, this paper intends to summarize some relatively practical English strategies to guide the translation of political texts, improve the English translation level and promote better exchange between China and the other countries。
